As a trained practitioner, the Sports Therapist is able to recognise and treat common orthopaedic problems and soft tissue injuries as well as being able to set up a complete  progressive and effective rehabilitation programme of treatment and  exercise  designed  to enable the person to safely return to their sport or activity.

The role of Sports therapy is in aiding the athlete/sports person to maximise their performance for their particular level of fitness and expertise. Included in this would be the returning of an injured athlete to the level of ‘fitness’ they experienced just prior to sustaining their injury ( or as near as is possible limited only by any physical/psychological restrictions which may remain as a result of the injury).
